Restoring an earlier prepared release selects its existing immutable artifacts again. It does not refresh the current source, undo all subsequent review history, or resend files to a destination. Keep the distinction between the active release and the latest source snapshot clear when investigating a bad import.
Rules can be restored to a draft and previewed before applying. A snapshot backup is a separate data artifact that should be checked against the intended feed and run. None of these controls is proof of a complete infrastructure restoration. For a data-loss incident or unavailable backup, open a ticket with the affected references so recovery can be investigated without altering unrelated stores.
What to do
- Identify whether the problem is in the source, rules, review, or prepared release.
- For a release problem, inspect an earlier version before restoring its artifacts.
- For a rules problem, restore to draft and preview against the current source.
- Keep snapshot backups independently and verify their contents.
- Recheck the resulting release and arrange any required destination re-delivery separately.
