FEEDAPTOR / HOW TO

What is the difference between Refresh and Re-audit?

Refresh reads a connected source again; Re-audit checks the saved uploaded data.

Refresh retrieves the current feed from its connected source URL and creates a new source snapshot when successful. Re-audit uses the existing saved data for the supported audit workflow. An uploaded file has no renewable URL unless you connect one, so repeatedly re-auditing it cannot pick up new stock or prices from your commerce system.

Neither action approves pending changes, replaces a prepared release, or sends data to a destination. Check the resulting snapshot time and job status before assuming that current source data has been read. For a file-only workflow, import an updated file when the source changes and inspect the comparison with the prior snapshot.

What to do

  1. Use Refresh when the feed has a working source URL.
  2. Use Re-audit when you intend to check the saved input.
  3. For an uploaded-file source, provide updated source data when needed.
  4. Inspect the latest successful snapshot and review continuity before preparing a release.
