Start with a small selection that includes your ordinary products and the cases most likely to reveal mapping mistakes: variants, sale prices, out-of-stock items, and products with missing optional attributes. A sample of only perfectly complete products will tell you less about how the workflow handles your actual catalog.
After import, inspect individual products and their source values. Resolve identity, price, stock, and mapping errors before reviewing descriptive edits. Download a release and inspect its contents before planning an unattended refresh. Keep your original feed available so you can compare a result with its source.
What to do
- Export a representative UTF-8 sample under the import limits.
- Import it into the intended store and check the field mapping.
- Open product details and inspect both ready and blocked examples.
- Review supported changes, preview a release, and inspect the downloaded artifacts.
- Connect the source URL and schedule refresh only after the sample behaves as expected.
