Archiving is useful when a merchant or market is temporarily inactive. Archived stores retain their saved data, and scheduled work for them is paused. Catalog changes are blocked until the store is restored. Archiving is different from a deletion request and does not itself erase snapshots or artifacts.
The owner can restore a store when it should operate again. Before resuming regular work, verify the source URL, subscription, schedules, and latest data, because an inactive store may have become stale. Do not assume that restoring a store has already performed a refresh or delivered a new release.
What to do
- Select the correct store and inspect its name and domain.
- Archive it when you want to pause operations without requesting deletion.
- Use Restore when it should become available again.
- Review its source and schedule, run a refresh, and inspect new changes before release.
