FEEDAPTOR / HOW TO

Why are products blocked, and how do I fix missing or duplicate IDs?

Use the target-specific issue list and repair source facts before descriptive review.

Blocked means a product has an error for the relevant validation target. Common causes include missing required fields, malformed URLs or prices, unsupported stock values, duplicate item IDs, and inconsistent variant options. Read the field and error message for that product; a warning and a blocking error have different effects.

Keep item IDs unique, non-empty, and stable in the source. Review cannot safely infer which duplicate row a correction belongs to. A valid GTIN check digit only confirms numeric structure, not that the identifier belongs to the product. Invalid GTINs can be omitted with a warning; use real assigned identifiers when available rather than generating one to make a report green.

What to do

  1. Filter the catalog by blocked products and choose the intended target.
  2. Read each field-level issue on representative products.
  3. Repair identifiers, prices, stock, and grouping in the source system.
  4. Correct field mapping when valid data is stored under a different column.
  5. Refresh or re-audit, then inspect the issue count again.
