Each imported feed supports up to 10 MB of input and up to 10,000 source product rows. If the source is gzip-compressed, its expanded content must also fit the 10 MB limit. A small compressed download can therefore exceed the allowance after decompression.
Every source row counts as one variant row, including repeated SKU rows. Grouping ten variants under one parent product does not make them count as one row. Split larger catalogs into useful feeds such as market or category segments while keeping stable item IDs within each feed. Merchant also has a workspace limit of 30 feeds, so plan the split before creating many sources.
What to do
- Check both the downloaded size and the expanded size for gzip feeds.
- Count purchasable variant rows rather than parent product groups.
- Split oversize catalogs by a clear operating boundary such as market.
- Recheck that each split feed has unique IDs and consistent variant groups.
